NFCA Automation and Technology

NFCA continually strives to provide higher quality and on-time delivery. To this end, we make regular and substantial investments in technology. Currently, key NFCA equipment includes:

New Core Machines

NFCA recently added two new 22 square core machines to its equipment line up. The core machines will allow NFCA to control lead times and provide customers with improved turnaround time when necessary.

Automatic molding machines

We currently use two automatic molding machines, one Roberts Sinto FBOII and one Roberts Sinto FBOIII. The automatic molding machines allow NFCA to produce castings faster, more consistent and less costly.

Robotic finishing with Barinder Grinders

As soon as we installed our first Barinder Grinder, we began redesigning our workflow to accommodate a second one. This robotic finishing grinder removes gates, burrs and parting line fins from castings in a single set up. The Barinder is even capable of finishing complex interior surfaces.

The Barinder combines innovative robotic part handling with unique grinding wheels to automate finish work--quickly and reliably. With our Barinder grinders, your castings can be quickly cleaned in a single set-up. For most components, the Barinder is faster and more accurate than a manual operation.  It provides amazing control to meet precise tolerances, time after time. With the Barinder robotic grinder, we can offer our customers improved productivity, safety, and repeatability.

A leading-edge computer system to decrease complexity

While pouring molten metal is the most visible aspect of what we do, our work is exceedingly complex. Our company requires sophisticated management for an enormous amount of information. That’s why we’ve invested in best-in-class computing hardware, software, and networking technology; all so that we can further improve our manufacturing, logistics and customer communication.

Sand system controls for Aluminum Brass and Bronze

Our Hartley compactability controller allows for near perfect compactability, giving molds consistent sand, therefore reducing casting defects and increasing the quality of what we deliver. Beyond that, we have a PLC controller with self diagnostics that identifies sand system problems immediately. This contributes to greater molding efficiencies and consistent production. Last, these controllers provide us with the ability to tailor compactability to meet requirements of any job, which makes us a perfect fit for many companies.
